From Helena to Fito: The Art of Becoming

Helena to Fito:
When an artistic exploration of modern womanhood becomes a wider philosophy of living.

Every transformation starts with a question: Who are we becoming?
When I started working on Helena, my artistic exploration of contemporary womanhood, I was intrigued by identity, resilience, and the expectations that influence our lives.
Helena was never meant to symbolize an ideal woman. She embodies a woman in transition — someone who questions, explores, stumbles, ascends, and keeps redefining herself.
In my paintings, I delved into themes of vulnerability, strength, and the liberty of being undefined. As the project progressed, I realized that these inquiries extended beyond the canvas.
They also pertained to the way we live our lives.
Helena: The Freedom to Evolve
Helena challenges the idea that a woman must fit a fixed definition.
She is not a completed work; she is always evolving.
Just like nature.
A garden transforms with the seasons. Flowers emerge and fade away. Trees adjust to their environment. What seems delicate can possess remarkable strength.
This connection between human nature and the natural world has grown more significant in my artistic practice.
Nature does not demand perfection. It allows transformation.
And perhaps we should allow ourselves the same freedom.
When Art Becomes a Living Space
Working as a landscape architect has shown me that our surroundings shape our daily experiences.
As an artist, I've learned that color, atmosphere, and composition can convey emotions beyond the reach of words.
With Helena, I started to delve into the connection between identity and transformation.
Through Fito Design, I am broadening this exploration to include the spaces we occupy.
This is where these two projects intersect.
Helena explores how we define ourselves.
Fito explores how we design environments that enable us to live more freely, naturally, and beautifully.
A garden can provide privacy and introspection. A painting can spark dialogue. A well-designed interior can foster a sense of belonging.
These are various forms of creative expression, united by a common belief in the significance of individuality.
From Resilience to Wellbeing
To me, wellbeing isn't about achieving a flawless lifestyle.
It's about striking a balance between personal needs, society, and the natural world.
We inhabit environments shaped by expectations, routines, and constant change. However, we also require spaces where we can slow down, think creatively, and reconnect with ourselves.
This is why I believe art and nature should hold a more significant role in everyday design.
A balcony adorned with plants, a tranquil courtyard, an original painting, or a garden designed around personal rituals can contribute to that experience.
Not because design can resolve every challenge, but because our surroundings can support the way we choose to live.
Helena explores the resilience of the individual. Fito explores the environment in which individuality can flourish.
A New Chapter of My Creative Practice
The evolution of Helena, as a creative and artistic endeavor, has profoundly inspired me to look beyond the traditional boundaries that typically separate fine art, landscape architecture, and the nuances of everyday living. This journey has prompted me to explore the intersections of these disciplines, revealing the rich tapestry that can emerge when they are woven together. I have come to understand that the environment we inhabit is not merely a backdrop for our lives but a canvas that reflects our experiences, emotions, and aspirations.
With Fito Design, I am dedicated to bringing these diverse disciplines closer together in a harmonious blend that enriches the human experience. Fito Design is not just a brand; it is a philosophy that seeks to integrate artistry into the very fabric of our surroundings. By merging fine art with landscape architecture, I aim to create spaces that are not only visually stunning but also resonate with the deeper aspects of our existence. Each project becomes a collaborative effort between nature and human creativity, fostering a sense of place that is both personal and universal.
My ambition is to develop spaces that respect natural processes, celebrate personal expression, and create opportunities for connection and wellbeing. I envision environments where individuals can engage with nature, find solace, and express their unique identities. In doing so, I strive to cultivate a sense of community and belonging, where people can gather, share stories, and forge meaningful relationships. The spaces I design are intended to be nurturing and restorative, promoting mental and emotional health through thoughtful design and the integration of natural elements.
Helena will continue as an independent artistic project, delving into the complexities of modern womanhood, identity, and transformation. This project serves as a platform for exploring the multifaceted nature of femininity in contemporary society, addressing themes of empowerment, resilience, and self-discovery. Through various artistic expressions, Helena seeks to challenge societal norms and celebrate the diverse narratives that define womanhood today. It is an exploration of how identity evolves in response to personal experiences and societal changes, inviting dialogue and reflection.
Fito will carry part of that philosophy into gardens, interiors, creative workplaces, and hospitality spaces, ensuring that the principles of beauty, functionality, and emotional resonance are at the forefront of each design. By infusing artistic elements into these environments, I aim to create spaces that inspire creativity and foster a sense of joy and tranquility. Whether it is a serene garden that invites contemplation, an interior that sparks creativity, or a hospitality space that encourages connection, each design becomes a manifestation of the values I hold dear.
One project explores the human story, delving into the narratives that shape our lives and experiences. This exploration is not just about individual stories but also about the collective history that binds us together as a community. It is an invitation to reflect on the past and envision a future where our stories can coexist and enrich one another.
The other considers the spaces in which that story unfolds, examining how our environments influence our experiences and interactions. By understanding the relationship between people and their surroundings, I aim to create spaces that enhance the storytelling experience, allowing for deeper connections and shared moments. The design of these spaces will evolve continuously, adapting to the needs and desires of those who inhabit them.
And both continue to evolve, reflecting the dynamic nature of life itself. As I embark on this journey, I remain committed to exploring new ideas, embracing change, and fostering innovation. Each project is a step toward a broader vision of a world where art, nature, and human experience are intertwined, creating a richer, more fulfilling existence for all.
The Art of Living Is the Art of Becoming
I don't think we are intended to stay the same.
Nor are our gardens, our cities, or the places we consider home.
We evolve. We adjust. We explore new opportunities.
Maybe the most significant design isn't the one that tries to manage everything, but the one that allows space for life.
Helena is the art of becoming. Fito is the art of living.
And together, they represent the next chapter of my creative journey.
Welcome Nature In. Let Art Transform the Space.
